JJC gets first place in Mapfre's Safety Excellence Award
The accolade highlights occupational risk prevention management.
In recognition of the high standards of safety in its production processes, Mapfre Peru awarded JJC with its highest accolade, the “Golden Clover” award, as part of the “Safety Excellence Award 2015" in recognition of the high safety standards achieved by companies in the Construction Sector of the country, in the prevention of occupational hazards. The ceremony was held on June 16 at the venue "Casa Prado", in the district of Miraflores.
"Thanks to our management approach-- which gives priority to the core areas of prevention, training and resources-- we provide our employees with a safe and healthy workplace, and as a result we obtain satisfactory management indicators. Our commitment is that every worker returns home in the same way as he or she walked into work: safe and sound," said Fernando Cerdeña Stromsdorfer, JJC's Corporate Planning and Management Systems Manager.
JJC's management system is based on contributions to its stakeholders. In that sense, safety is a contribution to its employees, and to make it effective, the company has management tools in place with which to monitor and implement measures to protect their physical integrity. A sample of JJC's performance was the Cerro Verde mine expansion project, where the company was the contractor with the highest number of safety awards.
