JJC publishes its 2016 Sustainability Report “Working Together to go Beyond”
The JJC Group has published its fourth Sustainability Report, corresponding to year 2016. Prepared with verification of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) under the G4 Guidelines, the Report summarizes what has certainly been a sustainable and responsible performance.
This document gives an account of the performance of the organization, as well as the results obtained in 2016, without doubt raising new challenges in the future. It also ratifies JJC's commitment to the 10 Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the incorporation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (promoted by the United Nations) into the Company's strategy.
In economic terms, the highlights are the distribution of more than 182 million PEN in wages among workers, more than 370 million PEN among suppliers and the delivery of 13 million PEN in government taxes. On the other hand, when it comes to social responsibility, we can mention that the number of hours of training provided to workers is close to 30 thousand, a 46% reduction of our Severity Index (the lowest level reached in the last 10 years), as well as the 2276 people throughout the country who were beneficiaries of JJC's volunteer programs. Finally, in the environmental dimension, we have demonstrated an improvement of our environmental performance through the 3R Program: "reduce, reuse and recycle", applied to environmental impacts.
"2016 was a year full of huge challenges, and we have taken up these challenges with enthusiasm. The results obtained are a real motivation to continue working under the same motto: WORKING TOGETHER TO GO BEYOND. Determined to have a positive impact on society, we are confident that our actions will continue to build confidence. It is undeniable that our commitment is reflected in all aspects of our performance vis-à-vis our stakeholders."
